2003

D&I launches MCP as an employee resource group to attract, develop and retain multi-cultural talent

The Foundation makes a neighborhood revitalization grant to El Museo del Barrio focused on East Harlem’s rich heritage

2006

CSR Americas partners with Internationals Network for Public Schools in response to rising dropout rates for late-entry English language learners (ELLs)

2007

The Foundation initiates multi-year support for El Barrio Operation Fightback PS 109, an initiative to transform an abandoned school in East Harlem into permanently affordable housing and community space

2010

CSR Americas supports two landmark exhibitions—Houston Collects: Latin American Art and Carlos Cruz-Diez: Color into Space—at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston  

2011

The New York Times article In New York, Mexicans Lag in Education reveals high dropout rates among Mexican and Mexican-American youth in NYC—and prompts the Foundation to develop a comprehensive response

2012

The Foundation commissions new research by Community Service Society (CSS) on the education, employment and income trends for youth and families of Mexican descent in NYC

The Foundation supports the NYC Young Men’s Initiative, advancing new strategies to address disparities between young men of color and their peers

2013

CSR Americas launches Anchoring Achievement in Mexican Communities, a signature Born to Be initiative and one of the Foundation’s most prominent Requests for Proposals to date; grants establish “neighborhood networks” of high-quality programs in every borough to improve the long-term educational and economic well-being of Mexican and Mexican American youth

2014

The Foundation establishes a Friends of Anchoring Achievement with clients to enable additional resources and volunteer support for the initiative

A Foundation grant to El Museo del Barrio supports hands-on education programs for underserved immigrant and Latinx families

Deutsche Bank is honored by New York Immigration Coalition for Anchoring Achievement and its ongoing commitment to NYC’s immigrant community

2015

A Foundation grant facilitates new programming for students at PS 73—including a unit inspired by ¡Presente! The Young Lords in New York at the Bronx Museum

MCP hosts “Honoring our Heritage, Building our Future” with NYC Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito for Hispanic Heritage Month

Employees volunteer at Free Arts workshops for low-income families served by Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service in East Harlem

2016

Deutsche Bank is recognized by the Parent-Child Home Program, a leading Anchoring Achievement partner

MCP organizes “A Day on Wall Street” for the largely Hispanic/Latinx student body of Newtown High School in Queens

A Foundation grant for the New York Hall of Science’s Queens 20/20 Initiative empowers local parents from Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador to advocate for their children’s STEM education

D&I launches Rise, an onsite program for diverse college freshmen to develop skills and network

2017

MCP launches three new leadership forums, including the Hispanic-Latino Leadership Forum (HLLF), to address unique needs within communities

The Bank responds to the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria with a portfolio of grants, loans, company matching gifts and volunteer opportunities

MCP and HLLF organize a supply drive for those impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

D&I completes another year of dbAchieve, an 8-week paid summer internship program which recruits talent from a diverse population of college sophomores

Deutsche Bank commissions Queer Icons, by Puerto Rican artist Gabriel Garcia Roman, as a mobile art installation at the NYC Pride March—which features underrepresented persons within the LGBTQI rights movement

D&I celebrates the long-term partnership of I Have a Dream, a diverse summer internship program for rising college freshmen and sophomores

A Foundation grant to Accion East provides 2,100 small business owners, largely Latinx women, with life-changing education and technical assistance
